This exercise practises reading a percentage from a 100-grid. The whole grid is 100 squares — the whole. Each square is one percent of the whole. So if 30 squares are shaded, 30 % of the grid is shaded.
What does this generator do?
Shades a random number of squares between 1 and 99 on a 10×10 grid. You count the shaded squares and write the percentage.
How to use it
A full grid is 100 %. Count the shaded squares — that number is the percentage. Tip: count whole rows of 10 first, then add on the loose squares.
