Work out the product of the round number and its leading digit.
20 × 2 =

This exercise helps you see how the product of a round number and its leading digit is built. If you know that 3 × 3 = 9, you also know that 30 × 3 = 90, 300 × 3 = 900 and 3,000 × 3 = 9,000. The zeros from the round number simply get appended to the basic multiplication result.

What does the generator do?

The generator creates problems where the first factor is a round number (for example 20, 300, 5,000) and the second factor is the same digit the round number begins with. The result is always less than 10,000.
