Work out the problem in columns and fill in the result.
× =

This exercise introduces written column multiplication of a multi-digit number by a one-digit number. Problems are laid out in columns, just like at school: the multi-digit number on top, the one-digit multiplier right-aligned beneath it, a line, and empty boxes for the result below. The result is always at most four digits long (under 10,000).

What does the generator do?

The generator creates problems of the form AAA × B or AAAA × B, where B is a one-digit number from 2 to 9. Results always stay below 10,000 so they fit into the four result boxes.

How to use

Press "New exercise". Work from right to left: multiply the ones, write down the ones digit of the result and carry the tens into the next column. Continue with the tens, hundreds and thousands. Type the result into the boxes below the line and confirm with "Check".
