20 × 3 =

In this exercise you multiply round numbers — digits followed by zeros — by any one-digit number. The strategy is the same as for the basic times-tables: multiply the leading digits and then append as many zeros as the original round number had. For example, 300 × 7 equals 3 × 7 with two zeros appended, which is 2,100.

What does the generator do?

The generator creates problems where the first factor is a round number and the second factor is any one-digit number (not necessarily the same as the leading digit of the round number). Results always stay below 10,000 so they fit into four digits.

How to use

Press "New exercise", compute the small product in your head (or on paper) and add the correct number of zeros. Type the result and confirm with "Check".
