A line plot shows data values as X-marks above a number line. When the data is measured in fractions of a unit (here, quarters), every tick has a fraction label. This exercise asks for the range β€” the difference between the largest and smallest value on the plot.

What does this generator do?

Scatters 6–10 data points (as X-marks) on a number line that runs from 0 to 3 in quarters. The smallest and largest values are spread out enough so the range is at least 1Β½.

How to use it

Find the X-mark furthest to the left (smallest value) and the one furthest to the right (largest value). Subtract: largest βˆ’ smallest. Write the answer as a fraction (3/4) or a decimal (0.75).
