Compute the area of the composite figure.

Composite figures are figures formed by joining two or more basic shapes, or by subtracting one. For area you usually add (or subtract) the part areas. For perimeter, watch out – not every side of every piece counts, only the ones that form the outer boundary.
What does the generator do?
The generator picks the figure type at random (L-shape, T-shape, house, or square with cutout) and the dimensions of the parts. It alternates between asking for perimeter or area. Dimensions are small numbers so the result can be worked out in your head.
How to use it
Break the figure into basic shapes (rectangles, triangles). For area, add or subtract the part areas. For perimeter, trace the outer boundary and add up all the outer sides.
