Correct

The intersection A ∩ B contains the elements that are in A and in B. The union A ∪ B contains the elements that are in at least one of the sets. The difference A ∖ B contains the elements of A that are not in B. The complement A′ contains the elements of the universal set U that are not in A.

What does this generator do?

It shows the sets A and B and an operation. On easy, you find intersections and unions. On medium, differences too. On hard, complements in the universal set U and combined expressions such as (A ∪ B)′.

How to use it

1) Read the operation and say it in words (“in A and in B”, “in at least one”, “in A but not in B”, “in U but not in A”). 2) Go through the numbers one by one and click those that fit. 3) If no element fits, choose ∅.
